The kettle is also switched off if the lid is
opened.
Notes: Only operate the kettle with lid 2
closed and limescale filter 1 fitted, otherwise
the kettle will not switch off automatically
(automatic steam switch off feature).
Condensation may naturally form on base 9.
This is quite normal and does not mean that
jug 6 is leaking.
After each boil, allow the appliance to cool for
1 minute before refilling with water.
Do not switch on the appliance if jug 6 is
empty, otherwise the temperature safety
switch will be activated (see Troubleshooting
minor problems").
Cleaning
Never immerse jug 6 or base 9 in water or put
them in the dishwasher.
Lid 2 cannot be removed.
Do not use a steam cleaner.
Disconnect the plug from the mains.

Wipe down jug 6 and the outside of base 9
S
with a damp cloth only. Do not use sharp
or abrasive cleaning products.
Remove limescale filter 1 and soak it in
S
vinegar.
Rinse jug 6 and limescale filter 1 with clean
S
water.
Descaling
Regular descaling
- prolongs the service life of the appliance
- ensures perfect operation
- reduces the boiling time
- saves energy.
Descale jug 6 and limescale filter 1 with
vinegar or a commercially available descaler.
Fill jug 6 with water up to the max. mark
S
and bring to the boil. Then add
approximately 1 cup of vinegar and leave
to work for several hours. Remove
limescale filter 1 and place it in the
vinegar water solution.
Or you could use descaler in accordance
S
with the manufacturer's instructions. Do
not bring to the boil under any
circumstances.
Then rinse jug 6 and limescale filter 1 with
S
clean water.
Caution: Do not remove limescale deposits
using sharp implements as this could damage
the seal.
Troubleshooting minor problems
The appliance is not heating up. Indicator
light 5 does not light up → the temperature
safety switch has been activated.
Remove jug 6 (after a long cooling down
S
period) and replace it so that the appliance
can be switched back on.
The appliance switches off before boiling is
complete → the appliance is furred with
limescale.
Descale the appliance in accordance with
S
the instructions.

electrical and electronic equipment WEEE).
This directive provides the EU wide legal
foundation for the return and recycling of used
appliances.
