6. Emergency lowering mechanism
The emergency lowering mechanism allows you
to return your bed to the start position if there is
a power cut or the power supply is defective.
6.1 If not already installed, plug the emergency
lowering mechanism (7) into port 9 on the controller,
as per item 4.0.
The battery compartment on the reverse houses
two batteries of type 3V alkaline 9F22 or 6LR61.
Test the batteries once a year.
Make sure the batteries are properly inserted in
the emergency lowering mechanism unit.
Caution: danger of jamming by returning rods.
The mains-independent resetting function is not
a safety system in the sense of danger prevention.
6.2 Press the rocker switch on the emergency
lowering mechanism unit and keep the switch
pressed.
All motors will simultaneously return to the zero
position.
6.3 Replace the batteries after the emergency
lowering function was used.
6.4 Batteries may not be disposed of in the house-
hold waste. Please dispose of in accordance with
the valid country-specific environmental regulations.

7. Technical notes
7.1 Information on handset and radio operation
The drive system of your spring suspension is
equipped with a radio module. Please note that
the range of the radio module is affected by local
conditions. Other radio-controlled devices such as
mobile transmitters or mobile phones may cause
interference. The transmitting/receiving frequency
is 2.4 GHz ISM band.
The radio handset is only suitable for dry indoor
premises and must not be brought into direct contact
with moisture or water.
When changing from cold to warm environments,
let the handset adjust to the temperature for a few
hours to avoid damage due to condensation. Avoid
heat, cold, damp or wet environments and direct
sunlight.
7.2 Information on the motor and mechanical
components
To avoid overheating, which can lead to malfunc-
tions in extreme cases, do not use the device for
longer than 3 minutes at a time. You should then
wait 12 minutes before using it again.
The relevant details for the individual components
can be found on the nameplates of the respective
components, e.g. duty cycle 15% max. 2 min.
ON/12 min OFF, max. 5 cycles/min.
The entire system observes the longest OFF time
and the shortest ON time across all components.
The motor system has a protection rating of IP20.

7.3 Mains disconnection
The motor system is not compatible with higher-level
mains disconnection devices.
a) As a preliminary, have the socket wired sepa-
rately by an in-house electrician with the wiring
bypassing the household mains disconnection.
b) Installation or interposition of a switchable socket
or terminal strip.
c) Interposition of a radio-controlled switchable
socket. In this case, the higher-level mains discon-
nection must be deactivated before the system
is switched on, by activating another consumer,
e.g. bedside lamp.
That way your motor system can be completely
separated from the mains supply, thus ensuring the
functionality of the household mains disconnection.
7.4 Care instructions for motor system
Before cleaning, always disconnect the mains plug.
The housing should only be cleaned with a dry or
slightly moistened cloth. Do not use solvents (gaso-
line, alcohol, etc.) and avoid penetration by liquids.
Do not use household detergents.
Remove dust and soil from the exterior of the system
at regular intervals and make sure there are no
defects or cracks. Check cable and plug connections
and make sure they are functioning properly.
The motors' driving rods are greased. Please check
at regular intervals to ensure that there is a film of
grease present at all times. If not, clean the driving
rod with a dry cloth and then regrease it with a
teflon (PTFE) spray.

7.5 Care of radio handset
The radio handset is maintenance-free, apart
from changing used batteries. Clean the housing
with a slightly moistened cloth. Do not use abrasive
cleaners or detergents.
7.6 Care of hinges, joints and plastic parts
All parts can be cleaned with a cloth which has
been soaked in slightly soapy water or an non-
abrasive cleaning agent.
All supporting points are maintenance-free. In case
of noise, treat the guide rails with a teflon (PTFE)
spray if necessary.
7.7 Disposal
The product comprises electronic components,
cables, metals, plastics etc. and may not be dispo-
sed of in the normal household waste. Please dis-
pose of the product in accordance with the valid
environmental regulations of the respective country.
In particular this also applies to the disposal of
batteries.
