CUTTING THIN OR
CORRUGATED MATERIALS
For cut-offs in thin or corrugated materials, be
cautious of thin strips being pulled into the up-
per guard. To avoid injury or damage to the
tool, cut at least 1/2" from the edge of the work
piece.

RIP CUTTING

For longer straight cuts 5" or less in width, it
is recommended to use Skil rip fence Model

For longer straight cuts 5" or greater in width,
it is recommended to use a rip board guide.
Clamp or nail a straight edge piece of 1" lum-
ber or angle iron to the sheet as a guide. Use
the right side of the foot against the board as
a guide. (Fig. 8)

SPRING
Ensure the clamps do
not interfere with the
13896. To attach rip fence, insert it through the
slots in the foot. Adjust to the desired width as
shown and secure with the thumb screw and
spring (Fig. 7).
Ensure Rip Fence does
not interfere with the
free movement of the lower guard and saw
blade. Rip Fence contacting lower guard or
saw blade can cause property damage and
serious personal injury.
