Changing Engine Oil

CAUTION
Engine damage. Verify proper type and quantity of
engine oil prior to starting engine. Failure to do so
could result in engine damage.
WARNING
Skin irritation. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with
used motor oil. Used motor oil has been shown to cause
skin cancer in laboratory animals. Thoroughly wash
exposed areas with soap and water.
NOTE: Drain oil when engine is warm. Warm oil drains
more completely.
NOTE: This unit do not require a regular oil change.
Check the engine oil before each use and add oil as
needed. Refer to the Engine Manufacturers Manual for
more detailed engine information.

drains quickly and completely.

4-6. For convenience, place the
machine up on a wooden pallet or workbench.
2. Remove the oil cap/dipstick (A) and position a suit-
able oil receptacle (B) beside the oil fill tube.
3. Verify gas fill cap (C) is tight.
4. Using the trimmer/mower handle, tip the machine
to drain the oil out through the oil filler tube into the
container.
5. Refill the engine using SAE 30 HD oil to the level
indicated on the dipstick.
NOTE: Dispose the used oil following environmentally
safe disposal procedures.

Adjusting Trimmer Head Belt Tension

dlebar (B) adjust trimmer head belt tension. To adjust the
tension, hold hex flat section (C) and rotate the in-line
adjuster (A).
Increase cable tension by rotating the in-line
adjuster clockwise when viewed from above.

Reduce cable tension by rotating the in-line
adjuster counter clockwise.
The belt will stretch overtime and require adjust-
ment. If the trimmer head does not spin when the
trimmer head engage bar is engaged, rotate the in-
line adjuster clockwise.

If the in-line adjuster is adjusted fully out and more
adjustment is required, the belt needs to be
replaced.

Servicing Spark Plug

To ensure the engine runs efficiently, the gap of the spark
plug must be correct. To service the spark plug:
1. Clean area around spark plug.
2. Remove spark plug.

3. clean the electrodes with a metal brush and
remove any build up.
4. See
with a fueler gauge. The clearance should be .019-
.027 in (0.5-0.7 mm). If adjustment is necessary,
bend the side electrode carefully.
