• Always check the work area before trimming and
remove any debris that might tangle or damage the
machine.
• If the trimmer becomes tangled, turn off the engine
and disconnect the spark plug wire before attempt-
ing to untangle the machine.
• For the neatest appearance, trim first, discharging
clippings away from borders and shrubs, then
mow.

Heavy Growth

•
Use the blue 175-mil cord in combination with the
highest engine speed for thicker growth such as
berry canes, brambles, thistles, or ragweed.
• Ease the ends of the cord into heavy growth and
move slowly. The cutting cords may wrap around
woody weed and stalks they can not cut, pulling
the cords from the trimmer head.
•
Work slowly in heavy growth.
• Keep uncut material to the left, maintaining a clear
discharge area to the right
• If the machine cannot do it all in one pass, overlap
half of the cutting swath.
•
Cut heavy grass in multiple passes. On the first
pass lift the trimmer head off the ground a few
inches by pushing down on the handlebar and cut
the material at this height. Make a second pass
with the Mow-Ball close to the ground.
• Mow heavy growth with a forward and back vac-
uum cleaner motion.
NOTE: Use the two pases, one half overlap method,
whenever possible.

Wet Conditions

WARNING
Personal injury. Use caution when operating unit in wet
conditions. Never mow in the rain. Failure to do so could
result in death, serious injury, equipment, or property
damage.
The Generac Trimmer/Mower can be used to mow wet
areas.

Very Dry Conditions

When trimming and mowing in very dry conditions, be
extra cautious of cut grass, chaff, weeds, seeds, etc.,
accumulating on the engine. See the Engine Owner's
Manual for more detailed information on cleaning the air
Intake, air filter, and cooling system on the engine.

Slopes

WARNING
Personal injury. Use caution when operating unit over
uneven terrain or slopes. Failure to do so could result
in death, serious injury, equipment or property
damage.
The Generac Trimmer/Mower can be used on slopes up
to 20°. Continuous use on slopes steeper than 20° could
result in engine damage.
