Section 3: Operation
WARNING
Personal injury. Never use this machine for other than the
intended purpose of trimming, mowing grass, weeds, and
other growth as specified in the Owner's manual. Failure to
do so could result in serious injury or equipment damage.
WARNING
Personal injury. Never put hands, face, feet, or clothing
under the deck or near the discharge area while the
unit is running. Doing so could result in death or
serious injury.
WARNING
Accidental startup. Shut engine OFF, allow to cool, and
remove plug wire before clearing debris from trimmer
guard. Failure to do so could result in death or serious
injury.
WARNING
Projectile risk. Remove all debris from work area
before operating unit. Failure to do so could result in
death, serious injury, or property or equipment
damage.
WARNING
Projectile risk. Be aware of surroundings at all times when
operating unit. Disengage mower blades if people or animals
enter the work space. Failure to do so could result in death,
serious injury, or property damage.
WARNING
Risk of flying objects. Be aware of surroundings at all
times. Release bail bar and shut engine OFF if people or
animals enter within 100 ft of the work space. Failure to
do so could result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
Risk of flying objects. Shut engine OFF when traveling
over loose items such as gravel or mulch. Failure to
do so could result in serious injury or property damage.

Before Starting Engine
CAUTION
Equipment damage. Clear the engine of grass and
debris before each use. Failure to do so could result
in engine damage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Unit is shipped without oil. Add
engine oil before starting. See
instructions.
1. Check engine oil level.
2. Check fuel level.
3. Inspect unit for damage.
4. Remove any debris buildup from the top of the
engine and the underside of the machine.
Starting the Engine

3-1. Push throttle control lever (A) fully
forward to the run
2. Grasp recoil starter handle (B) and slowly pull until
you feel resistance. Let the cord retract a few
inches and then pull the cord rapidly to start the
engine.
NOTE: The engine should start within one to two pulls.
NOTE: Do not engage the trimmer head engage bar until
after the engine has started
