HANDBOOK
JIG-SAW
ASSEMBLING:
Speed: 2000 rpm (with 6000 rpm the
cut will be cleaner, but the saw has to
be kept running for a couple of
minutes until the ball bearings
have the right working tem-
perature and guarantee optimal
concentric
running).
The high-speed motor
(accessory: 162 420) is recommended (the cut is
cleaner).
Tighten the screws of the jigsaw table and
the jigsaw housing firmly (attention: not too firmly
otherwise the thread of the synthetic parts will be
destroyed!).
WORKING / AVOIDING:
The jig-saw is not dangerous at all!!
Because of the small stroke of the saw blade
the (soft) skin only vibrates. Hard material (wood)
can be cut, but it must be pressed down
firmly onto the jig-saw table.
Do not press too hard when sawing
(otherwise the saw blades will break).
The saw blade should always be vertical (do
not bend), even when cutting curves, otherwise
it will break easily.
WHAT TO DO, IF ...
The saw blade breaks:
Open the screw that fixes the blade, switch on the
machine (turn the machine upside down). If the saw
blade does not jump out, then screw the jigsaw table
off the housing, change the saw blade or replace it by
the broken (and shorter) sawblade (lower cost).
The saw blade does not move:
Check: Eccentric U23 is in the tappet, the collet
holder U48 is fastened tightly, the pulley of U2 is
stuck tightly to the spindle-axis, the drive-belt has
the right tension.
MAINTENANCE:
1. Clean and grease the tappet-holder
(e.g. vaseline).
2. Eventually change tappet (after many working
hours when the tappet-holder has a lot of free
movement).
3. Change the saw blade (change more often
when cutting plastic or metals). Before you
unscrew the two screws of the jig-saw free
them from saw dust by means of a saw blade.
4. Change screws when they are worn out.
POSSIBILITIES:
All fretwork, puzzles, laying games, childrens
games, master plates, letters, jumping jacks, ...
Little shelves (for the working table), drawer
divisions, boxes, play boards.

TECHNICAL DATA:

Max. depth of cut: hard wood 4 mm, plywood 7
mm, balsa 18 mm, sheet metal 0,5 mm, Plexi-glass
2 mm, bottom plates (2 mm).
Stroke of the jigsaw: 3 mm
MATERIALS FOR PROCESSING:
Poplar plywood 4 mm has proven to be very
good, but other types of plywood can be used as
well, like balsa-wood or common types of solid
wood (spruce strips) and thin Plexiglass.
