OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
MICROSCOPE CAMERA 5.0 MP

Intended use
This microscope camera equipped with a USB connection allows an image enlarged by a microscope to be
transferred to and processed on a computer. The camera can be installed on all microscopes with a tube
diameter of 23.2 mm, 30 mm and 30.5 mm. The necessary software is included in the package contents.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and
keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.

a) Persons / Product
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected
to the product.
• Important! This product is a precision device. Handle it with due care.
b) Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
Operation
a) Remove the protective film
1. Unscrew the lens cover from the camera.
2. Carefully remove the protective film on top of the protective lens glass. Warning! Do not touch the
protective glass.
b) Install the software
The software included must be installed in order to use the camera with a computer.
• The software has been written in English and German.
• The software instructions are included on the software CD (in English and German). Read through these
instructions completely before using the camera.
1. Insert the software CD into the DVD drive on your computer.
2. If the installation does not begin automatically after inserting the software CD, search for the ".exe"
installation file on the CD and double click on the ".exe" file to start the installation.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

c) Installing the camera
Monocular microscope (see figure 1)
1. Unscrew the lens cover from the camera.
2. Screw the camera onto the microscope.
Binocular microscope (see figure 1)
1. Unscrew the lens cover from the camera.
2. Remove one eyepiece from the microscope.
3. Screw the ø23.2 mm C mount adapter onto the camera.
4. There are two adapter sleeves (ø30 mm and ø30.5 mm) available. Insert the C mount adapter onto the
opposite side of the adapter sleeve O-ring.
5. Secure the camera to the microscope using the adapter sleeve in place of the eyepiece.
d) Stand
The camera can be secured to a stand. A stand thread is located on one side of the camera, which is used
to screw the camera to the stand.
e) USB connection
The camera transfers the image to the computer via a USB port.
1. Connect the USB plug on the USB cable connected to the camera to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.
2. The necessary drivers will be installed automatically.
Maintenance and cleaning
• The product does not require maintenance except for occasional cleaning.
• Disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning.
• Under no circumstances should you service any of the components in the interior of the device apart from
cleaning the sensor protective glass when necessary.
• Clean the sensor protective glass carefully with a lens cleaner. Ensure that no detergents get into the
interior of the device. Do not scratch the sensor protective glass.
• Use a soft, antistatic and lint-free cloth to clean the device housing. Dust can be removed easily using a
soft and clean long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
• Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning materials.
• Screw the lens cover onto the camera after use.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
