WARNING: DO NOT attempt to defeat
the magnetic cord connection by
attempting to permanently attach the
power cord to the deep fryer.
WARNING: Use only the power cord
provided with the deep fryer. Use of
any other magnetic cord could cause
fire, electric shock or injury.
WARNING: DO NOT come in contact
with the magnetic connection on the
power cord while it is plugged into the
electrical wall outlet. Injury can occur.
2 Attach the handle to the basket by
pinching the metal ends together so
that they will fit into the metal bracket
on the inside of the basket. (Fig. 3)
3 Hold the basket securely in one hand
and lift the handle with the other hand

Filling the Oil Reservoir
Fig. 5
FILL WITH OIL
1
Pour cooking oil into the reservoir
until the oil level is between the 'MIN'
and 'MAX' lines on the inside of the oil
reservoir. For best results, keep the
oil close to the 'MAX' level. DO NOT
exceed the 'MAX' level. (Fig. 5)
NOTE: Use blended vegetable oil, pure
corn oil or canola (rapeseed) oil. DO
NOT use olive oil, margarine, lard or
drippings.
USE OF SOLID FAT
WARNING: It is NOT RECOMMENDED
to put solid shortening in the oil
reservoir or in the frying basket.
1
If using solid vegetable shortening,
melt it first in a separate pan and pour
the melted fat into the oil reservoir
very carefully.
NOTE: Remove previously used,
curdled or hardened solid vegetable
shortening from the oil reservoir and
melt in a separate pan before reusing.
CAUTION: Attempting to melt
solidified fat in the oil reservoir
presents the risk of warm melted
fat suddenly sputtering from below
through the still solid top layer of fat.
Use only the following procedure:
• Make sure the fat is at room
temperature. If the fat is very cold,
there is a greater risk of splashing.
• Carefully make some holes in the fat
with a fork.
• Make sure the lid is securely closed.
• Heat fat slowly on lowest temperature
setting.
