Disposal
a) General
The product must not be disposed of with the household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
Remove any inserted battery/rechargeable battery and dispose of it sepa-
rately from the product.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used bat-
teries/rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are
labelled with these symbols to indicate that the disposal of them in the
household waste is forbidden. The symbols of the critical heavy metals are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the of-
ficial collection points in your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries
or rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment!
Maintenance and cleaning
a) General
The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for
inserting/replacing the batteries as described in these operating instructions). Any
maintenance or repair work may be performed only by an expert.
The outside of the housing should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could
damage the housing (discolouring) or impair operation. Also, do not press
too hard on the display, as this may cause scratch marks or damage the
display.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
b) Changing the batteries
The battery needs changing in the radio-controlled thermometer, when the display
contrast is reduced considerably.
Once the batteries in the outdoor sensor get flat, a battery symbol appears to the right
of the outdoor temperature indication.
In that case, exchange the used/flat batteries for new ones and dispose of the old bat-
teries in an environmentally correct way; see chapter "Disposal".
