Operation
• Remove the protective cap from the probe tip.
• Switch on the thermometer by pressing the ON/OFF button.
• Select the desired temperature unit with the °F/°C button.
• Insert or immerse the probe tip in the item to be measured.
• Wait a short time, until the measured value in the display has stabilised.
• To "freeze" the measured value so that the probe tip can be removed from the item to be
measured without changing the measured value, press the HOLD button.
• To allow the display to show the current measured value afterwards, press the HOLD button
again.
• Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the thermometer.
• Clean the probe tip after use, and replace the protective cap in order to prevent damage.
After about 16 minutes, the thermometer automatically turns off. This prevents the
battery from running down if you forget to turn off the device.
Maintenance and cleaning
Apart from replacing the battery, the kitchen thermometer requires no maintenance.
The probe tip can be cleaned with liquids, but the indicator head should only be cleaned with a
soft dry or slightly damp cloth.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as they could damage the surface
of the casing.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the
household waste!
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
Remove the battery if there is one inserted and dispose of it separately from the
product.
b) Normal and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with
the symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden.
The symbols of the relevant heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead
(marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g. underneath the re-
fuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collec-
tion points of your community, in our stores, or anywhere batteries or rechargeable batteries
are sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
