8 Fault finding- Causes and Remedies

Air entry in suction pipe
Cover of lint strainer does
not seal tight
Wrong direction of motor
rotation (3-phase motor)

Chocked lint strainer
Chocked main sand filter
Loss of phase
WSK of pump motor has
tripped
Remedy
Check condition of pipe, connections,
and seals.
Clean strainer cover and check condition
of O-ring washer.
Change any two phase wires.
Check condition of pipe , connections,
and seals.
Change any two phase wires.
Eliminate any element causing excessive
resistance.
Check that available voltage corresponds
with name plate data.
Clean lint strainer
Start backwash cycle.
The original operating conditions are
automatically restored on power restoration.
Let motor cool down, reset fault at switchbox,
pump will restart. On repeated tripping of the
WSK it will be necessary to check pump
electrically and mechanically.
