YU-IR601 Infrared TV Headphones

Intended use
The infrared TV headphones are used for wireless transmission of audio signals in the home and are in-
tended for the common household TV sets, and other audio devices with a suitable audio output.
The charging/ transmission station is only licensed for connection to the supplied power unit. The head-
phones may only be powered by the enclosed rechargeable battery.
The power unit is only suitable for use in common household wall sockets of the national grid.
The use of the infrared TV headphones and the power unit is only allowed in closed, indoor locations, i.e. not
outside. Contact with moisture, for example in bathrooms or the like, must be avoided.
For safety and approval reasons you may not convert and/or alter the product. If you use the product for
purposes other than those described above, you may inflict damage on it. Furthermore, an improper use
involves risks such as short-circuits, fire, electric shocks, etc. Please read the operating instructions care-
fully and do not discard them. If you pass the product on to a third party, please hand over these operating
instructions as well.

Explanation of symbols
The lightning symbol inside a triangle is used when there is a potential risk of personal injury,

which absolutely have to be observed.
The arrow symbol is used to indicate where specific tips and information on handling should be
given.
The symbol with the house is used to inform the user that the device may only be operated in
enclosed rooms.
Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention to the safety
instructions. We do not assume liability for any injuries/material damages resulting from
failure to observe the safety instructions and the information in these operating instruc-
tions regarding the proper use of the product. Furthermore, in such cases, the warranty/
guarantee will be null and void.
a) General
• The product is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Please handle the product carefully. It can be damaged by impact, blows, or by being dropped,
even from a low height.
• Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
• Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or sprayed water, strong vibrations
or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not place open flames, such as burning candles, on or near the device.
• Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. Do not place any containers with liquids,
e.g., vases or plants, on or next to the product. Liquids could seep into the casing and thus
impair the electrical safety of the device. Furthermore, there is a significant risk of fire or of a
lethal electric shock!
• From time to time, check the device and the power unit for damage. Do not touch them in case
of any sign of damage. First, switch off the appropriate mains socket (e.g., via the respective
circuit-breaker and the RCD) and then carefully pull the power unit from the mains socket. Do
not use the product after that and take it to a specialised workshop instead.
• Never replace a damaged connecting cable on the power unit. If the connecting cable is
damaged, the power unit is unusable and must be disposed of. Repairs are not permitted.
• In order to disconnect the unit from the power system completely the power supply must be
disconnected from the power socket.
• Please observe the additional safety instructions in the individual chapters of this manual.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely connect it,
consult a qualified technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work may be carried out only by an expert or a special-
ised workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions, please con-
tact our technical customer service or other professionals.
b) Operation
• Do not listen to excessively loud music over long periods of time. This may damage your
hearing.
• Do not use the product while driving a vehicle, operating machinery, or performing other po-
tentially hazardous activities. You may not hear warning signals or ambient noises, and thus
expose yourself to danger.
• Never use the product immediately after moving it from a cold room into a warm one. The
condensation that forms might destroy the product. A power unit also carries the risk of a
potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and
putting it into use. In some cases, this may take several hours.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure it against
unintended use. Safe operation is no longer possible, if the product:
- has visible damage,
- no longer functions properly,
- has been stored under adverse ambient conditions for an extended period of time or
- has been exposed to considerable strain during transport.
c) Rechargeable battery
• The enclosed rechargeable battery may only be charged in the headphones. Do not attempt
to remove the rechargeable battery to charge it with an external charger.
• The rechargeable battery may only be charged by inserting the headphones into the charging/
transmission station. A different charging current will cause damage to the equipment and the
built-in rechargeable battery to overheat or ignite (risk of explosion!).
• Keep the headphones out of the reach of children.
• Keep the rechargeable battery out of the reach of children. Do not leave the rechargeable
battery lying around, as they may be swallowed by children or pets.
• Do never throw the rechargeable battery into fire, never short-circuit it or do not throw it into a
fire. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Charge the rechargeable battery on a regular basis, even if the device is not used (approxi-
mately every 3 months). Otherwise, it may lead to a deep discharge of the rechargeable
battery, thus making it permanently unusable.
• If your skin comes into contact with a leaking or damaged rechargeable battery, you may suf-
fer burns; thus you should use suitable protective gloves.
• The liquids leaking from the rechargeable battery are chemically very aggressive. Objects or
surfaces coming into contact with these liquids could be considerably damaged.
