7.6 Commissioning the lifting column
Only authorised personnel may commission a lifting column. The safety regulations and instruc-
tions in this installation manual must be read and obeyed. Before commissioning, you must check
the lifting column for damage and note the instructions for operating same (see Chapter 7.3) if
you cannot detect any damage, then the lifting column can be used.
Commissioning a single lifting column
Test the safe state of the lifting column. Connect the lead in accordance with the installation in-
structions for the external controller and follow the procedure in the instructions. Note when rais-
ing and lowering the lifting column that this operates the limit switch and at the same time
switches the lifting movement off in the top and bottom end positions.

An initialisation run on the drives must take place before installing the drives. With
mechanical connection of the drives, the initialisation run must be conducted with
the greatest care. With a mechanical connection and an asynchronous run, there is
a risk of breakage.
