Security
Danger of burns from hot media: The sensor hous-
ing can heat up to over 50 °C during operation. Provide
burn protection for hot media.
Potentially explosive atmosphere area: Make sure
that technical safety regulations are complied with. Do
not use devices that were exposed to hard impacts.

mer. This can be used to program the switching points
and damping. For more information see the

Explosive gas atmosphere zone 0 and 1
The LBFS can be used in potentially explosive areas of
zone 0 or zone 1. Sensors with PNP can use the easy
to install insulation barrier PROFSI3 from Baumer.
Sensors with NPN must use the Zener barrier.
