• If the light (22) becomes weaker or nothing can be
heard on the radio, this means that the battery is
no longer sufficiently charged. In this case, switch
the device off and turn the crank (17) for a short
period.
• Please turn the crank (17) as evenly as possible
(charging is best at about 2½ to 3 revolutions a
second). Avoid cranking too quickly and chang-
ing the direction of turning abruptly. Cranking too
slowly may affect the charging efficiency of the
generator adversely and cranking too quickly may
damage the mechanism or the crank (17).
• In order to extend the battery life when the radio
is not in use, please turn the crank (17) for at least
1 minute each month in order to avoid complete
discharge of the battery.
• Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures.
Avoid dropping the unit.
• Do not clean the unit with corrosive or other harsh
cleaning agents or using rough fabrics.
• Switch the light (22) off when charging, in order to
increase the efficiency of the generator.

• The unit may become slightly warm while being
charged. This is normal and is no cause for con-
cern.
