Inserting the Battery, Replacing the Battery
Slide open open the battery compartment (5) on the back.
A 9V block battery is required to operate the device. Therefore, we recommend that you use
high-quality alkaline batteries in order to ensure long-lasting and reliable operation.
Clip the plug at the end of the connection cable in the battery compartment on to a 9V block
battery, paying attention to the correct polarity.
Insert the 9V block battery into the battery compartment and close it again. Make sure that the
connection cables are not squeezed or damaged.
It is necessary to replace the battery if the contrast of the LC-Display is low and the battery status
display shows an empty battery (Symbol "
Turning the device on/off; selecting measuring mode
The "FUNCTION" button is used for turning the device on/off as well as for selecting the desired
measuring mode.
The device is turned on by briefly pressing the "FUNCTION" button and the automatic measuring
mode "" is selected.
If you now press the "FUNCTION" button again repeatedly, the next measuring mode is activated
(metal, wood/beams, mains cables) or the device is turned off again.
Depending on how often you press the "FUNCTION" button, the applicable function is selected
(pay attention to the symbols in the display) or the device is turned off:

You can turn off the detector by keeping the button "CAL" pressed and then briefly
pressing "FUNCTION". Furthermore, note that the detector will always turn off after
about 2 minutes to save energy.
Detection
Compared to other detectors, this device has a calibration function and a display with a 10-level
signal strength indicator (in addition, a blue LED (1) is activated at level 10).
Using the calibration function, a given reference value (actual state) can be used as the basis for
further measurements and their display. By repeated calibration during a measurement process,
even small changes in the wall can be found!
The 10-level indication of the signal strength (bars in the bar display "C", see figure in chapter
"Controls") allows a far better evaluation of the position of metal parts, wooden beams or mains
cables in the wall to be made.
