10.0 Troubleshooting PM2200 Cyclone Dust Collector

10.1 Electrical and motor problems

Symptom
Motor will not start.
Motor will not start:
fuse blows or circuit
breaker trips.
Motor overheats.
Motor stalls, resulting
in blown fuses or
tripped circuit.
Loud noise or
vibrations coming from
machine.
Remote controller fails
to activate machine.
* WARNING: Some corrections may require a qualified electrician.
Possible Cause
No incoming current.
Safety key missing from switch.
Motor overheated, relay tripped.
Low voltage.
Open circuit in motor or loose
connection.
Faulty start switch.
Faulty start capacitor.
Faulty motor.
Too many machines on shared
circuit.
Short circuit in line cord or plug.
Short circuit in motor or loose
connections.
Incorrect fuse or circuit breaker in
power line.
Motor overloaded.
Air circulation through motor is
restricted.
Motor overloaded.
Short circuit in motor or loose
