LEGAL WARNINGS

- This user manual, which must be read within the scope of each specific
installation, only states general regulations;

In case of a defect, you can return your product to a registered Niko
wholesaler, together with a clear description of your complaint (Conditions
of use, stated defect...)..
IR RECEIVER 16-741 / 16-742
The use of an infrared remote control is normally limited to the room where
the IR receivers or appliances are located. To be able to use your infrared
remote control from another room (to choose e.g. a radio station), you
can use the IR signal distribution via the wiring. An installation always
consist of 1 or more infrared receivers, a connection block an a number
of mini infrared emitters.
The products comply with the EN55020 and EN55022 norms.
SPECIFICATIONS
The IR receiver 16-741 consists of a single circuit board and is flush
mounted by means of a flush mounted box, suitable for screw fixing.
The IR receiver 16-742 has a double circuit board and is mouted on a
single flush mounted box with screw fixing. The IR receiver is provided
with connectors for the Nikobus home automation system. Although the
IR receiver is combined on the same circuit board, it does not make use
of the Nikobus home automation system. Both circuits have a separate
connection and wiring.

- receiving range: up to 10m, depending on the surrounding light
- receiving range: ± 50°
- built-in, red LED lights when receiving IR signals (activity LED)
- circuit board provided with a LED for on/off indication (status LED)
- power supply: 12VDC/10mA, provided via the IR connection block
(16-724) and the power supply (16-725)
CONNECTION AND INSTALLATION
Connect the signals 'GND', '+12V', 'IR-out' and 'STAT' according to
the wiring diagram in fig.2. The status LED (fig.1) lights when the
STAT-terminal has +12V. Several IR receivers can be connected to 1 bus
cable. For an optimum signal transfer between the different receivers
and the IR connection block (16-724), the Niko home automation cable
can be used. The bus cable can be 300m. Please consult the manual
of the connection block 16-724.

consult the Nikobus catalogue and installation course.

OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
In some cases, plasma screens, fluorescent lighting or sunlight can emit
undesired IR disturbance signals. This can interfere the IR-reception
(the activity LED then lights continuously). Please put the IR receiver
in a suitable place.
GUARANTEE PROVISIONS
- Period of guarantee: 2 years from date of delivery. The delivery date is
the invoice date of purchase of the product by the consumer. If there is
no invoice, the date of production applies.
- The consumer is obliged to inform Artsound in writing about the defect,
within two months after stating the defect.
- In case of a failure to conform, the consumer has the right to a repair or
replacement (decided by Artsound) free of charge.
- Artsound cannot be held liable for a defect or damage as a result of
an incorrect installation, improper or careless use or wrong usage or
transformation of the goods.
- The compulsory regulations of the national legislation concerning the sales
of consumer goods and the protection of the consumers in the countries
where Artsound sells, directly or via sister or daughter companies, chain
stores, distributors, agents or permanent sales representatives, take
priority over the rules and regulations mentioned above.
