put it back in place and check that it rests on
the roller correctly.
Clean the steam exhaust pumps, the fan box
and the exhaust piping (paying special atten-
tion to bends).
Clean the ventilation grids of fan motors and
driving motors.
Clean the roller as soon as a layer (generally
white) of scale or detergent residue appears.
Clean the slats that detach the laundry from
the roller and direct the items to the collec-
tion tray.
GREASING :
Grease the freewheel bearing using high-
temperature grease.
Likewise, grease the driving chains and pin-
ions, and do not forget the roller driving
chain.
ADJUSTMENTS:
Check that the introduction strips have the
right tension. They must be lightly stretched
and must turn around the driving roller with-
out slipping.
In order to stretch these strips, unscrew the
screws at the ends of the introduction tray
and then slide the tray itself.
Check that the ironing strips have the right
tension. Especially during early use, the
strips have a tendency to lengthen slightly.
In order to stretch them tight again, it is
necessary to use the two tensors located on
either side of the machine. Lift off the side
panels and then adjust the tensors in such a
way that the ironing strips make sufficient
contact with the roller to drag it along cor-
rectly without "slipping", even in the pres-
ence of laundry.
CAUTION: Apply the same force to both
tensors. To check that this adjustment is
done symmetrically, measure the distance
between the lever and the strip tensor nut.
This distance must be identical on either side
of the machine.
Do not stretch the strips excessively, be-
cause this would damage them rapidly.
Check the pressure of the press roller. It
must just touch the laundry without exerting
too much pressure, its purpose being flatten-
ing the laundry. This will ensure good qual-
ity ironing.
CAUTION: Apply the same force to both
tension springs. To check the symmetry
of this adjustment, count the number of
holes on the tensor strip. This number
should be the same on both sides of the
machine.
Check the tension of the driving chain (right
side of the machine). The chain must not
"beat" as it may then slacken and break.
To increase tension on the chain, move the
adjustable pinion along its rail.

5.4 EVERY 2000 HOURS

On gas-heated machines, check the gas ex-
haust conduits and have the chimney swept
if needed.
On electrically heated machines, check that
your vapour exhaust tube is not partially
blocked and clean it if needed.
6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAINTE-
NANCE
Before any jobs, the machine must always
be stopped, the roller cold and the circuit
breaker with guard in position 0.
6.1 CHANGING IN-LEADING BELTS
Remove the 2 screws fixing the introduction
tray.
Unlock the shaft of the auxiliary roller on the
left bearing (2 pointed screws).
Unroll about half a turn of adhesive strip.
Push away the pin while maintaining the
shaft in place (mind the direction in which
this shaft is mounted).
Push the shaft to the left and remove it.
Withdraw the introduction tray.
Remove worn input strips and replace them
with new strips.
To put the assembly back together, undo the
previous steps.
Glue the adhesive strip back on tight using
neoprene glue.
Check the distance between the end of the
introduction tray and the roller. It must be at
least 5-6 mm.
Note: always replace the entire set of strips.
6.2 CHANGING IRONING BELTS
Remove side panels.
Loosen the tension blocks as much as pos-
sible.
Move the clip of the ironing strip forward to
the front roller.
Connect the old strip to the new strip.
Mind strip position: the Nomex side
(darker), which is the side with the flap,
must be facing the roller.
Make the machine turn very slowly.
Stop it at the position of the clip.
Remove the old strip.
Insert both ends of the new strip into the clips
by moving the pin between the clips.
Repeat this operation for the other strips.
Adjust the tension of the strips, if needed.
Note: always replace the entire set of strips.

6.3 CHANGING CARRYING ROLLERS

Remove the top panel.
Remove the side panels.
Lift the roller using the appropriate means
(jack, crane...)
Loosen screws blocking the supporting roll-
ers on the bar that carries the rollers (2
pointed screws).
Remove the bar and the rollers.
Mount the bar back with new rollers.
Fix the rollers in position on the bar (mind
the correct position).
Fix the bar on the right of the rollers.
Fit the panels back in place.

6.4 CHANGING SIDE ROLLERS

Remove the side panels.
Remove the screws that fix the roller in
place.
Remove the spacer of roller used.
Place a new roller onto the spacer.
Put the new roller in place.
