OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CSI-150 INVERTER 150 W
ITEM NO.: 51 68 74

INTENDED USE

The product can be connected to a car's on-board voltage socket and transforms DC voltage
from the car battery to 230 V/AC, 50 Hz. This allows electrical appliances with mains adaptor
or mains plug to be operated via a car's on-board voltage socket. The product also has a
USB output to charge and operate devices with USB connection. The product is protected
against undervoltage, overvoltage, overload and overheating.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If
you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be
damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric
shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third
parties only together with its operating instructions.
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company

dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
• It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Avoid contact with
moisture at all costs.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow the
device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may take
several hours.
• Never pour liquids over electric devices and never place liquid-filled objects
near the device. Should liquid enter the device interior, unplug the car plug from
your vehicle's on-board voltage socket. Do not operate the product anymore
afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.
• The vehicle's on-board voltage socket must be near the device and easily
accessible.
• Never unplug the car plug by pulling on the cord, use the provided grip surface to
unplug the car plug from the on-board voltage socket.
• Unplug the car plug when the device is not in use.
• For safety reasons, unplug the car plug in the event of a thunderstorm.
• Make sure that the cable is not squished, bent, damaged by sharp corners or
VERSION 08/13
otherwise exposed to mechanical stress. Avoid unnecessary thermal load to
the cable such as via excessive heat or cold. Do not alter the cable. Failure to
heed this warning may lead to cable damage. A damaged cable can lead to life-
threatening electric shock.
• If the cable is visibly damaged, do not touch it. First cut the power to the on-board
voltage socket and then carefully unplug the car plug. Do not operate the device
with a damaged cable.
• If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by a
workshop or similarly qualified professional authorized by the manufacturer to
prevent risks.
• Never plug in or unplug the car plug with wet hands.
• Make sure that the car plug is sitting securely in the vehicle's on-board voltage
socket. If the plug is plugged in incorrectly, the product may overheat. This poses
a fire hazard!
• The product warms up during use. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation. Do not
cover the air vents.
• Do not leave the product and any connected devices unattended during use.
• Do not connect the product's 230 V output to any other 230 V power supply.
• The product is not approved for use on persons and animals nor for use with life
support devices.
• Please note that parts of the product remain energized even after the fuse is
tripped.
• When doing any work on the product, disconnect it from the power supply.
• Secure the product when using it in your vehicle so that you may operate the
vehicle unimpaired.
• Do not use any connected devices while driving your vehicle.
• Do not place the product on hot surfaces. Place the product on non-flammable
surfaces only.
• For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations
for electrical systems and equipment of the government safety organization or the
corresponding authority for your country.

GENERAL NOTES

In general, any 230 V device can be operated via an inverter. However, in order to estimate
the power requirements and corresponding reserves, it is important to know a few properties
of typical 230 V devices.
Many 230 V devices have much higher switch-on power consumption than the continuous
power listed on the rating plate. This makes no difference when powering up devices
connected to the mains power, as there are always sufficient power reserves available.
Inverters, on the other hand, have limited power. They can briefly supply the listed peak
power output to cover devices' high switch-on power consumption.
The inverter is not suited for use with devices whose switch-on power consumption exceeds
the peak power output. For instance, an inverter must have a peak power output of 500 W to
operate a small compressor-powered refrigerator with a rating of 50 W.
