Installation
Please pay attention to the information in the chapter "Preparation for Installation"!
• First remove the cover (2) by rotating it
slightly counter-clockwise ("OPEN").
• Remove the mounting plate (5) from
underneath the casing (3). To do this,
carefully pull the strap.
Since there are five contact pins in the cor-
responding sockets, the removal of the
mounting place (5) requires a certain effort.
However, do not use force.
Due to the design used, both the attachment
of the motion detector and the connection of
all cables are very easy.
• Pass the connection cable(s) through the
rubber seal in the mounting plate (5).
• Fasten the mounting plate (5) with two
screws (4) and plugs (7) to the ceiling.
Depending on the surface suitable screws
and plugs are to be used!
Place the sealing washer (6) provided
between mounting plate and surface
otherwise a protection according to IP44 is
not guaranteed.
If the motion detector is to be mounted on a
vertical wall, pay attention to the marking
" UP" on the mounting plate (5) and the
housing (3)! The marking must point upwards
vertically.
• Tighten the connection cables in the screw
terminals of the mounting plate. For this
purpose, observe the information and illus-
trations in chapter "Connection".
• Place the housing (3) with the contact pins on
the mounting plate (5) observing the correct
orientation.
Attach the casing (3) to the mounting plate
(5), using the two supplied small screws.
• After adjusting the settings for on-time, sensitivity and brightness adjustment (see chapter "Controls
on the motion switch"), attach the cover (2). Lock it by rotating it slightly in clockwise direction until it
clicks into place.
• To limit the detection range, the cover (1) included in the delivery can be attached. By excluding
some areas accordingly, the detection range can be adjusted.
Connection
Connect the connection cables with the corres-
ponding screw terminals (observe labels):
L = phase
N = Neutral wire
L´ = Switching output of relay 1
D1/D2 = potential-free switching contacts of
relay 2
Please observe the wiring diagram (for two
lights) in the picture on the right.
Do not connect the connections inside the
motion switch but use an external junction box,
otherwise the screw terminals might be over-
loaded (see illustration at the bottom right).
An exterior light can be controlled via the relay switching output L´. The second relay for
the switching output D1/D2 may be used for a second light.
For example, to control a staircase switch, the switching output is set to a very short switching
time of approx. 1 second (turn the control dial "TIME1" completely to the left to the position
"
" by rotating it counter-clockwise).

Controls on the motion switch
• Setting the on-time for output D1/D2 (control dial "TIME2")
This control dial allows setting the time for the on-time of output D1/D2. Turning the control knob
counter-clockwise shortens the on-time, turning it clockwise lengthens it. A setting of 1 minute
(position "1") up to 2 hours (position "2H") is possible.
If new motion is detected during the on-time, the time for the on-time starts again.
• Setting the on-time for connection L´ (control dial "TIME1")
Using this dial, you can set the time for the on-time of the relay for the connection L´. Turning the con-
trol knob counter-clockwise shortens the on-time, turning it clockwise lengthens it. There is a setting
of 1 second (position "
") or 30 seconds up to 30 minutes (position "30S" to position "30") which
can be used.
If new motion is detected during the on-time, the time for the on-time starts again.
• Setting the brightness adjustment (control dial "LUX")
This knob allows setting the switching threshold from which ambient brightness the motion switch is
activated.
Turning the knob to the left in direction of the moon symbol activates the motion detector only with
great darkness, turning it to the right in direction of the sun symbol activates the motion detector in
brighter conditions. The position "TEST" is used to check the detection range (on-time of the relays
in the motion detector is approx. 3 seconds).
• Setting the sensitivity (control knob "SENS")
This knob is used to set the level of changes in temperature from which a switching process is
triggered.
When turning it left the motion switch will activate already with low changes in temperature, turning
it to the right will only activate it with higher changes in temperature.
Maintenance and Care
The motion switch is maintenance free, this is why you should never open it or take it apart (aside from
the installation described in this operating instruction). Maintenance or repairs may only be performed
by qualified personnel.
Clean the hemispherical diffusing panel of the motion switch occasionally from dust or sediments, by
only using a dry, clean and soft cloth.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in line with the relevant statutory regulations.
