GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS
If correctly installed and used, the SIMPLE automated system ensures
a high degree of safety. Some simple rules on behaviour can also
prevent accidental trouble:
•
Do not pass through while the rod is moving. Before going through,
wait for the beam to open completely.
Do not, on any account, stand under the rod.
•
•
Keep radio controls or other pulse generators away from children,
to prevent the automated system from being put into operation
involuntarily.
•
Do not allow children to play with the automated system.
•
Do not willingly obstruct rod movement.
•
Prevent any branches or shrubs from interfering with rod move-
ment.
•
Keep indicator-lights efficient and easy to see.
•
Do not attempt to move the rod by hand unless you have released
it.
In the event of malfunctions, cut power, release the rod to allow
•
access, and wait for qualified technical personnel to do the neces-
sary work.
•
When you have set manual operation mode, make sure that the
system is not powered before restoring normal operation.
•
Do not in any way modify the automated system components.
•
Every six months, have the automated system checked for correct
operation.
•
Do not in any way attempt to repair or to take direct action, and solely
contact qualified GENIUS personnel or GENIUS service centres.
•
Make sure that the installation technician compiles the enclosed
maintenance register.
DESCRIPTION
The SIMPLE automated system is a non reversing electro-mechanical
barrier for controlling vehicle accesses
The operation of the automated system is controlled by a control unit
situated inside the motor body.
In the rest position, the rod is positioned horizontally in order to "close"
the access.
When a pulse generator, radio control, start push-button or other
device is activated, the control unit activates the automated system,
causing the rod to rotate until it reaches its vertical position, thus al-
lowing vehicles to access.
For details on the behaviour of the automated system and the different
selectable logics, consult the installation technician.
The motor transmission system is non-reversing, and is thus able to block
the rod in any position in order to prevent manual activation, until the
automated system has been released.
The indicator light , built into the housing, indicates the rod is moving.
MANUAL OPERATION
In the event of a power cut or malfunction of the automated system,
the beam can be moved manually as follows:
1.
Insert the personalised key and take the beam to its "STOP" position
rotating it anti-clockwise until it stops, Fig.1.
The key acts on a safety microswitch which positions the control
unit in STOP position, avoiding dangerous situations during the
release manoeuvre or during maintenance of the automated
system.
When the key is in STOP position, power to the automated system
is not cut off.
2.
Open the release cover, Fig. 2.
3.
Pull the release lever until it stops, (Fig.3 ref. 1).
4.
Move the rod manually, Fig. 4.

RESTORING NORMAL OPERATION MODE
To prevent an involuntary pulse from putting the automated system
into operation, power down the system before restoring normal
operation.
1.
Lower the release lever.
2.
Close the release cover.
3.
Move the rod manually up to the point where manual movement
is no longer possible.
4.
Take the key back to the "OPERATION" position, turning it clockwise
until it stops.
5.
Remove the key and re-power up the system.
Following the manual manoeuvre, the first cycle could occur
without the programmed slow downs. Run a couple of cycles
to check if the memory stored cycle is correctly restored.
MAINTENANCE
To ensure correct long-term operation and a constant level of safety,
we advise you to generally control the system at least every 6 months.
In the "User's Guide" booklet, there is a form for recording jobs.
The User must not in any way attempt to repair or to take direct
action and must solely contact qualified GENIUS personnel or
GENIUS service centres.
REPLACEMENT OF FLASHING LAMP
Procedure for replacing the lamp of the integrated flashing light:
1.
Make sure that the rod is in horizontal position.
2.
Cut power to the system.
3.
Remove the top housing, unscrewing the securing screws.
4.
Replace the lamp (use lamp: E14 24V Max. 15W).
5.
Re-position the top housing.
6.
Power up the system.
