HOW TO SERVICE THE AIR FILTER
NOTICE! Operating the engine with a damaged air filter or no air filter will
allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear.
A dirty air filter will restrict airflow to the carburetor, reducing engine
performance. If the engine is used in very dusty areas, clean the air filter more
frequently than specified in the maintenance schedule.
1. Separate the Air Filter cover (F3) from the Air Filter Housing (F1).
2. Inspect the air filter (F2). Clean dirty air filter with warm water and mild
soap. Allow air filter to dry thoroughly before re-installation
a. Replace the air filter if too dirty or worn.
3. Reinsert the air filter and snap the cover back in place.
NOTICE! Do not use pressurized air or solvents to clean the filter.
Pressurized air can damage the filter and solvents will dissolve the filter.
