WORM GEAR SPEED REDUCER
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Item No.: 8494130-8494155-8494171
Introduction
When running the WPS series speed reducer for the first time optimal performance is achieved by a
process of gradually increasing the load, up to full load, over the first 50 hours of use. During these
early stages of running, precautions should be taken to avoid overloading the speed reducer. If the
speed reducer must be run under full load without this break in period it is important to monitor its
operating temperature. If the temperature goes above 107°C (225℉) the speed reducer should be
stopped and allowed to cool. A progressive reduction in temperature will occur over many hours
until the unit has reached its highest efficiency.
