SEPARATING
The carbide disk is used to remove grout from wall tiles. It
can also be used for cutting plaster, aerated concrete and
masonry.
Apply the carbide disk to the surface to be cut at an angle
of 90° to the workpiece; switch on the Variotool and app-
ly suitable pressure while working (Fig. 14).
NOTE:
When cutting wall tiles, note that tools will be exposed to
severe wear during extended periods of use.
SANDING
WARNING:
After extended periods of use, do not touch the transmission as it can become very hot.
The removal performance and sanding results depending on your choice of sandpaper and the work surface involved.
Apply uniform sanding pressure to extend the life of the sanding sheets.
Intensifying the sanding pressure does not lead to an increase of the sanding capacity, but instead it increases wear on
the machine and the sanding sheet.
For clean sanding of edges, corners and areas that are difficult to reach, only use the tip or one edge of the sheet of
sandpaper.
When selectively sanding on one spot, the sanding sheet can heat up considerably. Remove the tool from the surface
periodically to permit the sanding sheet to cool down.
A sandpaper sheet that has been used for metal should not be used for other materials.
Use only original sanding supplies by STORCH. During sanding, always connect a dust extractor. Use sandpaper with a
grain of 40 - 80 for rough sanding; for fine sanding use sandpaper with a grain of 120 - 180.
Paper SCRAPING
Use the scraper tool to:
- remove paint, coatings and vinyl from wood and other floorings
- remove residual adhesives
- cut carpet
To cut and remove carpet, hold the scraper tool vertically with respect to the workpiece and cut the carpet; then hold
the tool at an obtuse angle (not above 20°) to the workpiece and apply only light pressure to remove the carpet. Failure
to do so can cause damage to the substrate underneath the carpet.
