Installation
• The place of installation must be firm and stable. The material thickness at the installation site should be a
maximum 20 mm.
• If several ceiling-mounted light fixtures are to be installed, plan the arrangement very carefully.
• Mark the drill hole at the installation site of the ceiling-mounted light fixture (for the necessary diameter see
Chapter "Technical data") and drill the hole with a suitable drill (e.g. drill with centring drill).
Our tip:
For safety purposes, before the installation of the ceiling mounted light fixture in a ceiling panel, check the
exact correct diameter of the hole.. Nothing is more frustrating than drilling a hole bigger than was necessary
in an expensive and high-quality ceiling panel.
Drill the hole from the visible side, so the edges of the hole do not break away. To improve precision, you can
pre-bore a 3 mm hole to guide the centring drill of the drill.
• Install the ceiling panel and guide the power cable through the borehole.
• If the ceiling-mounted light fixture is delivered disassembled, first mount the metal bracket with the terminal
housing to the ceiling-mounted light fixture (see figure at the end of the operating instructions, Step „1") so
that the terminal housing points outward.
• Remove the clamp on the cable relief by unscrewing the two screws.
• Remove the two screws on the cover above the terminal strip and remove the cover.
• Strip the mains cable to approximately 3 cm; then strip the 3 individual wires to approximately 5 mm. In this
process, it is important that the outer insulation of the mains cable is able to be secured safely with the cable
relief.
• Connect the mains cable using the terminal strip (brown cable = L, blue cable = N, green/yellow cable = PE/
earth, earthing symbol; see labels next to the terminal strip).
The protective earth wire must be connected!
If the product replaces an existing lamp and there is not a protective earth available, the product
must not be installed. First, draw a new mains cable with protective earth.
Where the protective earth is not connected, a fault with the mains voltage might result in the
metal housing of the ceiling-mounted light fi xture becoming live. There is a life-threatening hazard
through an electric shock!
• Attach the previously removed cover over the terminal strip correctly and screw it back into place. Do not
use any force as this might damage the plastic thread!
• Fasten the mains cable with the cable relief.
• Place the ceiling mounted light fixture in the hole in the ceiling panel.
To do so, first press the two spring clips together toward the back (see figure, Step 2); then you can push
the ceiling-mounted light fixture into the hole in the ceiling panel (Step 3).
Thereupon, the two spring clips spring back and secure the ceiling-mounted light fixture in the ceiling panel.
Make sure that the cables are not jammed in the process and that afterwards, there are no cables
lying close to the bulb.
• Insert a suitable light bulb in the ceiling-mounted light fixture. To do this, pull the light socket out of the
ceiling-mounted light fixture (Step 4). Insert a bulb in the light socket (Step 5) and lock it in place with a
clockwise turn to the right.
Push the light bulb into the ceiling-mounted light fixture and secure it there with the spring ring (Step 6).
• Using the swivel mechanism, you can adjust the orientation of the lighting as you wish.
Important! If you want to realign the light beam, then note that the bulb and the ceiling-mounted
light fi xture become very hot during operation, risk of burns! We recommend changing the align-
ment only when the bulb and the ceiling-mounted light fi xture have completely cooled.
Inserting/Replacing the Bulb
Bulb and ceiling mounted light fi xture become very hot during operation, danger of burns!
Let the defective bulb and the ceiling-mounted light fi xture cool down before replacing the bulb.
They can take 15 minutes or longer to cool. Before touching the illuminant or the ceiling-mounted
ring, check the temperature carefully. Risk of burns!
• First switch off the mains power (light switch).
• Remove the spring ring from the ceiling-mounted light fixture.
Attention, Caution!
The spring ring can jump out upon being detached; also, the bulb may fall out from the ceiling-
mounted light fi xture when the spring ring is removed.
• Carefully pull the bulb a little way out of the ceiling-mounted light fixture so that the light socket is visible.
Hold the light socket firmly and then turn the bulb slightly to the left counter-clockwise, until it can be taken
out of the light socket.
• Replace the defective bulb with a new one.
Check the type and the max. capacity of the suitable bulb; see Chapter "Technical data".
Never use a bulb with a higher capacity; this constitutes a fi re hazard!
• Insert the bulb in the light socket and lock it by slightly turning it to the right, in clockwise direction.
• Insert the bulb into the ceiling-mounted light fixture.
• Secure the bulb in the ceiling-mounted light fixture with the spring ring removed at the beginning.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
