13. COMMON FAULTS AND THEIR POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
1) THE ELECTRIC PUMP GIVES LOW FLOW AT LOW HEIGHT
a) The motor rotates in the opposite direction
b) Voltage and frequency are lower than
normal
c) Breaks or leaks in the pipes or joints
d) Impellers and diffusers are worn
2) THE UNIT WORKS BUT DOES NOT DRAW WATER
a) Check valve is stuck
b) The dynamic level of the well is below the
suction. In this case, consumption is less than
nominal
a) Phase failure
b) Low voltage and, therefore, increased
consumption
c) Incorrect calibration of the thermal protec-
tion
d) Ambient temperature above 20ºC
e) The pump is stuck, increasing consumption
f) The pump is out of curve and there is an
increase in consumption
4) THE PROTECTION TRIPPES AND THE FUSES BURN
a) There is a bad connection
b) The motor winding is shunted to earth
Manipulate the unit by unauthorized personnel may invalidate the warranty. In case of doubt,
consult Proindecsa or your nearest Authorized Offi cial Service, always indicating the model of the
pump, the installation data and any other information that may be useful.

3) THE THERMAL PROTECTION ACTIVATED
Reverse the connection of 2 of the 3 phases
- Check the voltage reaching the motor
- Take out the unit and check the installation
- Take out the unit and send it to the offi cial
technical service to replace the worn parts
- Take out the unit and check it
- Adjust well water withdrawal and install dry
run protection to prevent breakdowns
- Check the voltage reaching the three
phases and the overload fuses.
- Check the voltage supplied by the line or,
where appropriate, the generator. Check that
the cable section is adequate
- Recalibrate the protector in the proper range
- If possible, move the unit to a cooler place. If
not, increase the relay calibration
- The unit may be clogged with excessive sand.
In that case reversing 2 phases can release the
obstruction
- Adjust the outlet valve until the adequate
consumption is achieved.
Check all the connections
- Check it with the ammeter. As an alternati-
ve, remove the unit and send it to the offi cial
technical service for inspection.
