Before Startup
Caution
The engine is not delivered without oil.
Please fill in engine oil before using the en-
gine for the first time.
Operating the engine with too little or too
much oil can cause severe engine damage.

Caution
Never operate the engine without the air fil-
ter, as this will lead to premature engine
wear.

Check the air filter for dirt and damage.
Clean air filter as needed, depending on
the degree of contamination.

Fill in fuel.
Note: Only use unleaded vehicle petrol.
Do not exceed the maximum filling lev-
el. Ensure that neither dirt nor water
reach the fuel tank. Never use stale fu-
el. Never mix the fuel with oil.

Check the engine for oil or water leaks.
Remove existing leaks.
Check and ensure proper fitting of all
screw connections. Tighten loose con-
nections.
Check the areas around the muffler and
the starter for dirt. Remove existing
contamination.

Switch on engine switch.

Close the choke.
Note: Do not close the choke while the
engine is warm.

Pull the starter rope slightly until you
feel the resistance and then give it a
quick and hard tug in the direction of the
arrow. Let starter rope return gently.
Note: Do not let the starter rope repell
back, as the handle may cause damage
to the starter.

As soon as the engine has warmed up
and is running smoothly, open the
choke.

Switch off engine switch.

Close fuel cock.
Warning
Fuel fumes or spilled fuel is flammable.
Hold the engine horizontally during trans-
port to avoid fuel spills.
