FIREPLACE FRAMING AND INSTALLATION FRAMING & INSTALLATION Unpacking the Fireplace After removal of the plastic wrap, remove the screws holding the corner posts and plywood to the fireplace. Discard the corner posts and plywood. The non-combustible board is under the fireplace on the pallet. Remove any protective film from fireplace and all components (nailing flanges, nailing headers, etc.). Framing Fireplace support framing should be built before the fireplace is set in place. The fireplace framing may be constructed of 2 x 4 lumber. The framing headers must rest on the fireplace nailing headers.
