Reason(s)
Drain water running from unit.
1. The feed water saddle valve may
be closed.
2. Pre-filter may be plugged and
may need replacement.
3. RO membrane may be plugged
4. Shut-off valve may be defective
1. One of the above
2. The tank valve may be closed
3. The tank may have low air
pressure.
4. Tank may be empty
The storage tank may have
become defective
Your post filter may have
exhausted its life.
1. Low supply water pressure
2. High feed water TDS
3. Shut-off valve defective
1. The grey drain tube may be
kinked or blocked.
2. The drain restrictor (DR) may be
clogged with dirt.
3/8" black drain tube plugged or
kinked
Air in system after installation or
cartridge change.
1) Unit may still be under pressure.
2) Sump O-ring (2502) has dried
1) Head seal (2502) cracked or dry
due to age
2) Head seal or groove dirty
Vent O-ring dry or dirty
Solution
This is normal when RO is filling the storage tank
1. Open feed water valve.
2. Replace pre-filter
3. Replace membrane
4. Contact Envirogard to replace shut-off valve
1. Solution as above OR
2. Open tank valve (See Fig. 9)
3. If empty tank pressure is below 5 psi only then re-
pressurize tank using a bicycle pump. Drain the
tank completely first and make sure that the
empty tank pressure does not exceed the initial
factory pre-set pressure of 6 psi.
4. Wait for about an hour to allow tank to be full.
Replace storage tank
Replace post filter
1. Increase supply water pressure or install RO
booster pump (order from www.rainfreshstore.ca)
1. Take out kink. If tube is damaged replace tube.
2. Blow some air in the drain restrictor in the reverse
direction. If you feel air at the other end, re-install.
If the DR is blocked, replace
Disconnect black tube from drain saddle and inspect
tube and saddle hole for plugging. Clean/replace
components if necessary
Will stop after water runs for a while.
1) Close saddle valve and open the faucet to release
pressure
2) Head seal may be stuck. To break the seal, push
up on the sump before turning to unlock. Clean
and lubricate or replace the seal
1) Replace head seal 2502
2) Seal or seal seat may have debris. Wipe the seal
and seat with a paper towel. Thinly lubricate using
food grade silicone (Dow 111) or any other non-
petroleum lubricant and re-install. If this doesn't
work, replace head seal
Vent O-ring is not seating properly. Press vent button
several times to re-seat properly. If it continues to
leak, replace assembly (2505).
