Safety instructions
• Read the operating instructions in full before starting up and follow the safety instructions.
• Keep the operating instructions in a place where they can be accessed by everyone.
• Ensure that only trained staff work with the appliance.
• Follow the safety instructions, guidelines, occupational health and safety and accident prevention regulations.
• Wear your personal protective equipment in accordance with the hazard category of the medium to be processed.
• Work may only be carried out behind a protective screen or under the closed laboratory extractor hood!
• The voltage stated on the nameplate must correspond to the mains voltage.
• Socket must be earthed (protective ground contact).
• There must be an EMERGENCY STOP facility which disconnects all poles to the laboratory reactor from the power
supply.
• The EMERGENCY STOP facility must be easy to reach in a danger situation and be outside the area at risk.
• The laboratory reactor must only be operated using the safety switch included in the kit contents.
• The power supply to the agitator and the disperser drive must be through an in-built safety switch. Only ever connect
these units through it. That way the agitator and disperser drives can only operate when the vessel tongs are clo-
sed. Switch off the agitator and disperser drive before removing the reactor vessel!
• Equipment which have to continue to operate after the reactor lid has been opened (e.g. thermostat) must not be
wired through the safety switch! Heating without agitating is not permissible! Warning delay in boiling!
• Working with inflammable or explosive gases, vapours or solvents is not permissible in the laboratory reactor LR2000!
• Do not process any flammable or combustible materials.
• Do not operate the appliance in explosive atmospheres, with hazardous substances or under water.
• Operation with over pressure is not permissible! The reactor vessel may only be operated with a maximum vacu-
um of 25 mbar.
• Observe correct handling procedures for reaction educts and products.
• Depending on the application and materials, contact with or breathing in poisonous liquids, gases, mists, steam
or dust can be dangerous. If relevant, biological or microbiological materials can also be dangerous!
• Process pathogenic materials only in closed vessels under a suitable extractor hood. Please contact IKA if you
have any questions.
• Do not touch rotating parts during operation! The anchor agitator and the dispersion tool must not be operated
when the reactor vessel is open.
• Starting an open laboratory reactor (even for maintenance purposes) is not permissible!
• Rotating the anchor agitator or dispersal tool with some of the product sticking to it when open can lead to par-
ticles or liquid being sprayed.
• The unit may not be operated without a reactor vessel.
