10. Settings
Setting the anti-skating compensation
•
Set the anti-skating control to the needle resting weight value specified for that pick-up system. For a needle pressure of, e.g., 20 mN you
have to set the anti-skating control to "2".
•
The recommended setting for the supplied system is "3-4".
Setting the overhang
The overhang is the distance between the pick-up needle and the turntable axis. This overhang has already been factory set. If you should come
to changing to a different pick-up system, you can set the overhang as follows:
•
The overhang of the pick-up arm should be set to 16 mm for best playback.
•
To achieve this loosen both of the screws on the pick-up system headshell and slide the pick-up system into the correct position.
•
Always make sure that while you are making these settings, the pick-up system remains attached to the system carrier in a parallel
position.
•
Tighten both screws again.
11. Operation
General
•
Re-check all connections and adjustments.
•
Open the lid.
•
Put a record on the turntable. If required, place a single-adapter (puck) on the turntable axis to play single records.
•
Turn the POWER switch to the ON position.
•
Set the slide PITCH to its centre position. In this setting the control clicks into place and the green PITCH LED will light up.
•
Use the SPEED buttons to select the speed given on the record (33 1/3, 45 or 78 RPM). The selected speed is then indicated by the LED
display. Press both buttons at the same time to play a record at 78 RPM.
•
Switch on the mixing desk or amplifier. Select the appropriate input to which the record player is connected.
•
Press the START/STOP button. The turntable will begin to rotate.
•
To have the turntable turn in the opposite direction, press the R/F button. The LED below 'R' lights up. Press the button again to have the
turntable turn in the normal direction. The LED below "F" lights up.
•
Disengage the support clip on the pick-up arm rest.
•
Set the pick-up arm lift lever to the "OPEN" position and swing the pick-up arm from the pick-up arm rest and over the record.
•
If operating in bad light press the locking button for the needle-light. The needle light will raise into position and switch itself on. To switch it
off simply press on the needle light and gently push it into position.
•
Align the pick-up arm over first groove on the record.
•
Lower the head using the pick-up arm lift by swinging the pick-up arm lift lever forwards. The pick-up arm will lower itself gently and playback
of the record will begin.
