Installation options

The way in which the Alarm Monitor operates
can be changed using the jumpers on the
module as shown on the right.
Fence alarm delay
If a low or abnormal voltage is detected, this is
the delay period before the alarm will be triggered.
Fence alarm delay
4 seconds
8 seconds
Fence voltage minimum
The fence minimum voltage level setting, below which the alarm will trigger. Set the highest
level that will not cause false alarms.
Voltage minimum
High (approx. 5500 V)
Mediumhigh (approx. 4500 V)
Medium (approx. 3000 V)
Low (approx. 2000 V)
Dynamic voltage monitoring
The Alarm Monitor uses a continuous voltage monitoring system to detect abrupt changes in the
fence voltage. The alarm will sound if the fence voltage changes abruptly by more than 15 to
20 % of the average level.
For example, sudden changes that might be created by an intruder will trigger the alarm, but
gradual changes like seasonal growth along a fence line will be ignored.
Multi-sector alarm systems
When the output of an energiser powers more than one section of fence, and each section is
monitored by an Alarm Monitor, dynamic voltage monitoring should be disabled.
