ITEMS FOR SPECIAL ATTENTION
l Minimize obstructions between the remote sen-
sor and main unit. Try various locations to get the
best result. The sensor will transmit the tempera-
ture readings to the main unit at 1 minute inter-
vals. If no signal is received, blanks ( - - ) will be
displayed. Press and hold the CHANNEL button
for 3 seconds. This is also useful whenever you
find discrepancies between the reading shown
on the main unit and that on the remote sensor.
l If there is still no signal, check whether the bat-
teries need to be changed.
l Signals from other household appliances may
interfere with the function of the main unit. This
temporaly failure will disappear automatically and
will not affect the performance of the appliances.
l Whenever it is freezing, remove the remote sen-
sor from the pond by pulling the string.
l The main unit supports up to 3 remote sensors.
Select different channels for different remote
sensors.
Fish feeding
Feeding will improve the condition of fish and
has a favourable effect on their liveliness, range
of colouring and resistance against illnesses.
Correct feeding is subject to the water temperature.
From 5 to 10 °C special winter feed can be ad-
ministered once a day. From 10°C feeding can be
done several times a day.
Oxygen
As water temperature rises, the oxygen content will
decrease. Especially in summer at temperatures
exceeding 20 °C lack of oxygen may arise. High
oxygen water is a must for a healthy pond environ-
ment and healthy fish. It is important then to provide
the water with oxygen, using an aeration pump.
Keep clear of ice
In winter time death of fish regularly occurs when the
pond freezes over. Especially in small and shallow
ponds there is a great risk that suffocation will occur,
after the pond has been frozen over. At water tempe-
ratures lower than 6 °C it is wise to aerate the pond.
The air bubbles not only introduce oxygen in the wa-
ter, it also prevents the pond from freezing all over .
