26. Slide the 8 inch-long heat-shrinkable tube as shown.
Place edge of tube at edge of mastic.
27. Shrink the tube completely. Start at the farthest end and work toward
the open end. Keep heating after tube has shrunk, to melt adhesive and
mastic inside tube. Total heating time should be about 5 minutes (until
the melted adhesive and mastic are visible).
Caution: To avoid burns allow heated sections to cool before touching!
27.1 Start heating at this end.
27.2 Shrink the tube side by side and sway the heat gun back and forth.

IMPORTANT

While shrinking the tube, make sure you only heat the tube
and not the mastic directly, otherwise the mastic will start to
bubble. Heat the area of the tube that covers the mastic. The
mastic will melt to seal the visible gaps.
27.3 Work toward the open end. Shrink the tube completely.
28. Immediately after shrinking, pinch the end of the tube with flat nose
pliers until the end stays sealed; this normally takes 10 seconds.
