WARNING
• Read this guide and these warnings carefully before
proceeding and always follow instructions.
• Shock and fire hazard: these components are electrical devices
and must be installed correctly for safety reasons.
• Carefully follow all of the installation instructions and read
these important warnings.
• A damaged, frayed or incorrectly installed heating cable can
create electrical arcing and become a fire hazard. In order
to comply with the requirements of the manufacturer, the
National Electrical Codes and Canadian Electrical Codes and
prevent all hazards, a ground-fault protection device must be
used on each heating cable branch circuit.
• Do not damage bus wires during the installation, otherwise
the wires risk overheating and shorting. Bus wires should also
never come in contact or else they will short.

products
TM
• All components as well as the ends of the heating cable must
remain dry before and during the installation.
• The black conductive core must be correctly insulated and
kept dry to prevent shorting.
• The installation of this product must be done with the
components supplied. Never use parts or products other than
those listed in this guide.
• When using a heat gun or a torch, always keep the tip moving
to avoid overheating the heat-shrinkable tubes and prevent
damaging the components. Components other than the heat-
shrinkable tubes should never be heated. Heat-damaged
components should be replaced. Fumes created when heating
the heat-shrinkable tubes may cause irritations; take proper
measures to protect yourself.
• The heating cable should not be embedded in the thermal
insulation.
• The cable should not be twisted during installation; the cable's
minimum bending radius is 1.5 in.
• De-energize all power circuits before installation or servicing.
• The tinned copper braid of this heating device must be
connected to a suitable grounding/earthing terminal.
1. Cleanly cut off the end of each cable. Lightly score completely around
and then down outer jacket. The length is 2 3/4 inch.
Do not cut braid or inner jacket.
2. Bend heating cable to break jacket at score then peel off outer jacket.
3. Straighten the braid and twist into a "pigtail".
