4.1

Intended use

The VAS 6430 is only to be used for ACC and lane
departure warning system adjustment. Any other or
additional application does not constitute the intended
use.
4.2

Safety information

Risk of injury from laser
Serious eye injuries could result

Never look directly at the laser source.
¶
Never aim a laser beam directly at
anybody, particularly not at the face or
eyes.
¶
As a check, hold an object in front of the
laser exit point.
¶
The device is only ever to be used for the
intended purpose.
The class of the laser equipment is an indication of the
hazard potential associated with the accessible laser
radiation. A laser power level < 1mW corresponds to
laser class 2 as per EN60825-1 (EU) and 21CFR1040.10
(USA).
In the case of class 2 laser equipment, the accessible
laser radiation is in the visible spectral range (400 nm
to 700 nm). The eyelids provide sufficient protection for
inadvertent brief eye contact with such laser radiation.
Class 2 laser equipment can therefore be used without
any further protective measures if there is definitely
no need for intentional eye contact over a lengthy
period (>0.25 s) or repeated eye contact with the laser
radiation or directly reflected laser radiation.
Taking medication will slow down the reflex
action of the eyelids, thus increasing the
risk of laser-induced eye injuries. Anyone
taking medication is advised to wear R1
laser safety goggles.

Secure the adjustment beam to prevent slipping
when setting in vertical direction.

Risk of tipping: The adjustment device is less stable
when used with the adjustment beam in the upper
positions.

Risk of tipping: Use must be made of the drive
support when operating the adjustment device with
the adjustment beam in the upper positions.
