IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

This a medical device for home use. It is to be used only upon medical
prescription.
Before using the unit for the first time, and periodically throughout its life, check
the power supply cord for any damage. If there is any damage, unplug
immediately and return the product to an authorized dealer for service.
• Children and disabled persons should always use the unit under strict
supervision of an adult who has read this manual.
• The unit should not be used in the presence of anaesthetic substances
inflammable with air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.
• Never use adopters for power supplies different from the one indicated on
the bottom of the unit. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
Do not handle the plug with wet hands. Never use the unit while
having a bath or shower. Never submerge the unit in water; should this
accidentally occur, unplug immediately - do not reach for the submerged the
unit, always unplug first. After removing a unit from water, do not use again,
ensure it is returned to an authorized service dealer.
• Do not wash the unit under running water or do not submerge it in water.
• Unit with case not protected against ingress of liquids.
• Always unplug the unit immediately after use.
• Repairs should be performed by authorized personnel only. Unauthorized
repairs will invalidate the warranty and may represent a hazard to the user.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before each use, the nebulizer and the accessories should be cleaned
according to the instructions in the section "CLEANING AND
DISINFECTION".
1. Plug the power cord into a power socket corresponding to the voltage of
the unit.
2. Carefully wash your hands before preparing the inhalation therapy.
3. Open the medication nebulizer by turning the upper part (9c) counterclockwise.
4. Pour the drug prescribed by the physician into the lower part (9a). Close the
medication nebulizer by turning the upper part (9c) clockwise.
5. Connect the accessories as shown in the drawing on page 1. In order to
avoid waste of nebulized medication, it is possible to use the drug saving
device (8). Connect one end of the device to the medication nebulizer (9)
and the other end to the tube (7). Close the opening with the finger to perform
nebulization; reopen it to stop nebulization.
6. Start the unit by turning the switch on (3).
7. When the treatment is finished, turn off and unplug the unit.
8. Put caps A and B back in their seat in order to protect the inner part of the
medication nebulizer.
9. It may happen that during the use of the nebulizer visible humidity deposits
form in the connection tube (7), disconnect the tube from the nebulizer and
let it dry using the compressor air flow.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

Accessories
Carefully wash all parts used with the medicament under running water with
mild (non abrasive) detergents or in the dishwasher.
All accessories (except for the connecting tube) can be disinfected or sterilised
choosing one of these methods:
a) by boiling in a bain-marie (for max 5 min.); this method cannot be used for
the mask
b) by soaking in a solution of water and vinegar(3/4 water, 1/4 vinegar). Rinse
thoroughly with drinking water.
It is recommended to replace the medication nebulizer once a year.
Unit
Wipe the case only with a damp cloth using non abrasive detergents.
The unit is equipped with an air filter which (5) should be replaced when
dirty. Use only Flaem's original accessories.
