5. PREPARATION
5.1 Additional handle (Figure 2)
The additional handle (9) enables you to achieve
better stability whilst using the hammer drill. Do
not use the tool without the additional handle (9).
Undo the handle. Thread the hammer drill's
chuck (1) through the collar in the additional
handle (9). The additional handle (9) is suitable
for both left-handed and right-handed users.
Position the handle (9) on the left or right side of
the hammer drill. Turn the handle (9) into the
best position for you.
Tighten the handle (9). Check that the handle (9)
is secure.
In addition you can adjust the additional handle
to suit your working position. You can do so by
pulling the additional handle downwards and then
turning the handle into the required position.

5.2 Depth stop (Figure 2)
The depth stop (2) is a practical aid to enable you
to drill several holes of the same depth.
Drill a hole of the required depth. Pull the power
plug.
Undo the additional handle (9). Insert the depth
stop (2) into the hole at the top end of the additio-
nal handle (9).
Adjust the depth stop (2) to the required depth:
Insert the drill bit into the hole. Now adjust the
depth stop (2) so that its tip touches the edge of
the workpiece. Tighten the handle (9) again.
After connecting the mains plug to the power
source you can then drill more holes of exactly
the same depth. As soon as the depth stop (2)
1100 W
touches the workpiece, the hole will have exactly
230 V~
the same depth as the one you drilled previously.
50 Hz
5.3 Insert the drill bit
Always pull the power plug before making adjust-
ments to the tool.
This hammer drill is fitted with a keyless chuck
(1).
Ø 32 mm
Open the chuck (1). The drill bit opening (1) must
Ø 16 mm
be large enough to fit the drill bit into.
Ø 13 mm
Select a suitable drill bit or an accessory. Push
3.2 kg
the tool as far as possible into the chuck opening.
Tighten the chuck (1) securely. Check that the
II / ®
drill bit is secure in the chuck (1).
Carry out several test drilling operations (see
next section). Wait until the drill bit has complete-
ly stopped. Only then should you pull out the
20.5 m/s
2
power plug and check again that the drill bit is
secure.
6. OPERATING THE HAMMER DRILL
