4 Mounting
4.1 Overview
This chapter describes the mounting of the product. It
contains information about how to correctly mount the
product by means of two fixing clamps.
The following steps must be performed only
by qualified personnel.

Mounting the product

WARNING
Crushing and impact hazards due to moving parts
When mounting work is performed inside a machine's
working space, moving parts may lead to crushing or
impact.
Switch off the machine before mounting the product
Secure all movable parts
Wear protective gear
In order to ensure the correct and intended
operation of the product, it must be mounted
in the machine so that it cannot move out of
place.
HEIDENHAIN recommends mounting the
product by means of the two provided fixing
clamps in accordance with the dimension
drawing.
Further information:
Ensure that the mounting surface is clean
Arrange the product such that the compressed-air
outlets are facing in the direction opposite to the
machining area (protection from flying chips)
Secure the product in the machine so that it cannot
move out of place. If you use the provided fixing
clamps, position them so that they are mutually
diagonal
