for the first time, you may notice an unpleasant
smell, a little smoke and some impurities. They
will disappear in a few minutes. When using the
steam function for the first time, do not direct the
steam jet on the garments because manufacturing
residues may be present in the steam dispenser.
FILLING THE WATER
RESERVOIR
Water plays an essential role both in the ironing
process and in the good operation of the iron in time.
In particular, a high concentration of limescale may
damage some parts of the Compact Generator and
cause its early deterioration.
Water to be used
We recommend using demineralised water.
Filling the water reservoir (A)
Before filling the reservoir of the Compact Generator
with water, make sure that the iron has been switched
off and disconnected from the electrical socket.
1.
Place the Compact Generator in a horizontal
position, open the lid of the filler hole (4) and fill
the water reservoir using the water measurer
supplied with the iron (6).
2.
Close the lid of the filling hole.
Never add any perfume, vinegar, starch,
scale-removing agents, ironing products or
other chemicals in the water reservoir - unless
recommended by Hotpoint-Ariston. Never use
contaminated water.
USING THE COMPACT
GENERATOR
Selecting the temperature (B)
If your Compact Generator is equipped with the
Optimal Soleplate Temperature technology, you don't
need to adjust the temperature and/or steam.
1.
Connect the plug of the iron to a grounded socket
(220-240V). When the Compact Generator has
been switched on, a buzzer will sound and the
temperature indicator will light up (8).
2.
You can iron all the fabrics that can be ironed in
any order.
20
In the version with no Optimal Soleplate Temperature
technology, follow the instructions below.
1.
Connect the plug of the iron to a grounded socket
(220-240V). When the Compact Generator has
been switched on, a buzzer will sound and the
temperature indicator will light up (8).
2.
Use the temperature control (10) to select the
desired temperature. If you go from a lower
temperature to a higher temperature, the
temperature indicator lights up to show that the
Compact Generator is warming up.
3.
Once the Compact Generator has reached the
set temperature, the temperature indicator light
goes off.
4.
Make sure to check the garment label to
determine the fabric type. If in doubt, iron a hidden
part in order to determine the most appropriate
temperature and avoid damaging the fabric. In
case of very delicate fabrics such as silk, wool
and synthetic materials, iron the garment inside
out to prevent any shiny marks. Start with the
garments that require a low temperature, e.g.
synthetic fabrics.
Fabrics with this symbol on the label
must not be ironed.

USING THE IRON
Optimal Soleplate Temperature (C)
If your Compact Generator is equipped with the
Optimal Soleplate Temperature technology, you don't
need to adjust the temperature and/or steam nor to
sort out the garments based on their fabrics. Just
connect the plug of the iron to a grounded socket
(220-240V). As soon as the temperature indicator
light goes off, you can simply start ironing all the
fabrics that can be ironed in any order.
