Disassembly:
Disconnect motor (7), loosen and remove clamp (6), and body (3). Remove the O-ring (13). Loosen and
remove the cap nut (9) fastening the shaft (5) with a spanner or clamp through the flange hatch (1) or
by tapping with the spanner. Remove the impeller (4) and key (11). Remove the turning part of the
mechanical seal (8) through the top of the shaft.
To remove the fixed part, the cover must be removed (2), if necessary tap the flange with a plastic mallet
to remove it. The stationary part of the mechanical seal can be manually removed from its housing.
Check the condition of the shaft (5) to see if it has any notches or wear, in which case it is recommended
to change it.
Assembly:
For assembly, follow the instructions in reverse. Assemble the stationary part of the mechanical seal at
pressure (8) on the housing of the cover (2) and assemble it. Insert the turning part of the mechanical
seal placing a little neutral grease or soapy water on the shaft (5) to help it go in.
Change the shaft
The shaft on the monoblock pumps is a detachable shaft that is fixed on top of the shaft of the motor
with a setscrew with a locknut. A hard strike, a foreign body to structure the pump or continued use of
the pump may mean it is necessary to change it.
Disassembly:
Proceed in the same manner as for disassembling the mechanical seal. Remove the flange (1) so that
the shaft is completely exposed to be handled. Remove the splash protection (14), and loosen and
remove the setscrew (15). Remove the shaft (5) using an extractor if necessary.
Assembly:
To assemble it proceed in reverse taking into account the position of the threaded hole of the shaft (5)
on the pump that must match the shaft hole on the motor (7). When assembling the shaft is
recommended to use oil to prevent possible seizures. Screw the setscrew (15) and ensure it is fitted
with the locknut.
It is advisable to inspect the condition of all of the above-mentioned parts, every 2,500 h of
process or every six months (the lesser of the two) with the aim of maintaining the use of
the pump within safety parameters.
For the mechanical seal and the motor is recommended to follow the premises established
by the original manufacturers.
Except where the inspection and maintenance plans established by the user do not
determine different intervals.
The pump must never be turned dry!
