Remove below the vehicle any mastic from contact points between the chassis and the towbar; then paint mastic free pieces with
rust inhibitor.
1.
Remove the rear bumper.
2.
Lower the exhaust pipe, detaching the rubber cap from the silencer lower bearing (not from the bearing welded to the
vehicle's frame).
3.
From the inside boot remove the floor and lift the right and left sides of the coating.
4.
Place the left tie rod "B" lined up to the left chassis-rail of the vehicle; match the hole "Y" of the plate with the one already
existing on the vehicle and mark with the template the other 2 holes; make 2 holes Ø11 mm (don't make through-holes).
5.
From the boot inside place the long counter-plate "C" lined up with the external side and the rear side of the vehicle; Make
2 holes with the template and widen them to Ø18 mm.
6.
From the inside boot insert the spacers inside the chassis-rails and tighten first the left tie rod "B", then the chassis-rail with
the spacers inside and finally the long counter-plate "C", through the supplied bolts and nuts.
7.
Place the right tie rod of the cross bar "A" referring to the hole "03", already existing on the right chassis-rail, and referring
to the holes "04" of the left tie rod "B"; mark the hole "02" with the template, remove the cross bar "A" and make a hole Ø11
mm (not a through-hole).
8.
From the inside boot place the short counter-plate "D" lined up with the external side and the rear side of the vehicle, paying
attention that the hole "X" matches with the one already existing on the vehicle; make 2 holes with the template and widen
them to Ø18 mm.
9.
Insert the spacers inside the just made holes in position "03", together with the wide washer Ø20 mm; Using the supplied
bolts and nuts tighten first the right tie rod of the cross bar "A", then the chassis-rail with the spacers inside and finally the
counter-plate "D".
10.
Tighten all bolts and nuts as shown in the enclosed layout.
11.
Connect the wiring to the socket, following the car booklet's instructions "use and maintenance" as shown in the enclosed
wiring kit layout.
12.
Make a cut on the central lower part of the rear bumper, as shown in the enclosed layout.
13.
Reassemble the floor, the right and left side of the boot's internal coating, the exhaust pipe bearing and the rear bumper.
FOLLOWING THE BUMPER TYPE PLACE THE SOCKETHOLDER IN HIGH
Make sure that the tow bar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation. Verify also that the vehicle's towing
disposal quoted on the car registration is mentioned on the tow bar document. Otherwise ask for the appropriate office
(umbrarimorchi@umbrarimorchi.it) for explanations or updated documents.
For safety, all work involving tow bar installation must be undertaken by skilled technicians.
Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer's spares parts by qualified staff.
It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to the tow bar.
The tow ball must be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be checked at regular
intervals. If the tow ball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across the diameter, the tow ball must be
replaced with a new one.
After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table.
