Remove below the vehicle any mastic from contact points between the chassis and the tow bar; then paint
mastic free pieces with rust inhibitor. The holes for the tow bar fixing are available.
1.
Remove the rear lights and the bumper;
2.
Remove the spare wheel or the protection valve cap(for LPG model);
3.
Remove the heat-guard coating and lower the exhaust-pipe;
4.
Remove the rubber covers of the holes Ø23 on the internal side of the chassis-rails and the stickers
on the other side of the chassis-rails protecting holes Ø11;
5.
Place the two tie-rods "A" on the external side of the chassis-rails referring to the holes "1", then insert
the spacers "B" and fix interposing the large washers;
6.
Place the cross bar "C" between the two tie-rods referring to the holes "2", then insert the screws and
fix them;
7.
Tighten the bolts and nuts as shown in the enclosed layout;
8.
Connect the wiring to the socket, following the car booklet's instructions "use and maintenance" and
the positions as shown in the enclosed wiring kit layout;
9.
Back together the spare wheel or the protection valve cap (for LPG model) the heat-guard coating, the
bumper and finally the lights.
Make sure that the tow bar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation. Verify also that
the vehicle's towing disposal quoted on the car registration is mentioned on the tow bar document.
Otherwise ask for the appropriate office (umbrarimorchi@umbrarimorchi.it) for explanations or updated
documents.
For safety, all work involving tow bar installation must be undertaken by skilled technicians.
Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer's spares parts by qualified staff.
It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to the tow bar.
The tow ball must be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be
checked at regular intervals. If the tow ball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across
the diameter, the tow ball must be replaced with a new one.
After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table.
