person having similar qualifications. Substantial dangers for the
user can appear from inappropriate repairs.
 Repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified
personal in order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid
hazards.
Putting into operation
 Remove all packaging material from the appliance and put it on a stable and flat surface.
 Before first use clean the inside of the kettle carefully. In order to do so, open the lid by pressing the
button at the handle. Rinse the kettle with water for several times.
 The length of the cord which is not required can be rolled up at the bottom of the base. Never allow the
cord to come in contact with the hot kettle. Put the plug into an earthed socket.
 Fill the kettle with water up to the maximum marking. The water gauge is situated at the front of the
kettle.
 Close the lid until it snaps hearable. The boil stop automatic only works with closed lid. Keep the lid
closed during the boiling process.
 Put the kettle on the base. Press the switch to position – I – ON. The control lamp indicates that the
appliance is heating. The appliance switches off automatically with a „click" as the water boils and the
control lamp goes off. Pour out the hot water and rinse the kettle once more.
 Attention: The water of the first boiling process should not be used for food preparation!
Automatic boil stop
 Shortly after the water has started boiling the automatic boil stop switches off the appliance and the
control lamp. If only warm water is desired, the boiling process can be stopped at any time by pressing
the switch.
 Some condensation water may drop from the outlet holes at the bottom of the appliance onto the base.
This does not influence the safety of appliance.
Safety system
 If by mistake the water kettle is switched on without water, the thermostat protects the kettle from over-
heating by switching it off. In order to switch on again the kettle has to be taken off the base to reset the
thermostat.
 Before refilling the kettle it must be cooled down for 5 to 10 minutes.
Cleaning and maintenance
 Pull the plug and wait until the kettle is cooled down.
 Never immerse the kettle or the base into water.
 Do not use caustic or scouring cleaning agents.
 Clean inside of the kettel occasionally with fresh water. Clean the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth
only.
 The inside of the pot bottom is made from rust resistant stainless steel. Any iron moulds are only resi-
dues which stick on the surface. They should be removed with a special cleansing agent for stainless
steel.
 Clean the scale filter regularly. Take the filter out of the kettle spout and gently clean it with a soft brush
under a running tap.
Descaling
 A lime scale at the bottom of the kettle will cause loss of energy and can reduce the lifetime of the
appliance. If the limescale is too thick the appliance switches off before the water is boiling. In this case
it is very difficult to remove the lime scale.
 The appliance needs to be descaled periodically to guarantee optimal boiling results for a long time.
Depending on the water quality (lime content) in your area as well as the frequency of use, descaling
needs to be done on a regular basis. Signs of scale are lengthening of the boiling time and increased
noise during use of appliance.
The appliance should be descaled after each one to three month depending on frequency of use
and lime content of used water.
 The pot should be descaled regularly with appropriate descaling agent suitable for stainless steel.
Please consider the user instructions on the package of the descaler.
 The scale filter can be taken out and descaled separate.
 Never allow the substance to boil, otherwise it will foam over the top of the kettle.
 After descaling rinse the kettle thoroughly with water for several times.
 Attention: The guarantee does not cover demages due to not following the descaling link.
The appliance complies with the European directives 2006/95/EG and 2004/108/EC.
At the end of its lifetime this product must not be disposed of through the normal domestic
waste, but it should be handed to an assembly point for the recycling for electrical and electroni-
cal appliances. You can inquire about details at the local administration.
