How to glue parts using Sikaflex®-522 and Sika-Aktivator
IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING SIKA'S PRODUCTS :
Sikaflex
-522 is a single component hybrid sealant PU based on silane-terminated polymers. It cures on
®
exposure to atmospheric moisture to form a durable elastomer. Sikaflex
with quality assurance rules ISO 9001 and 14001 and the «Responsible Care» program.
Expiration date are indicated as following: month/year. Example : 03/09 corresponds to March of the year
2009.
Warning: May cause sensitization by inhalation. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. In case of accident
or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediatly (show this document where possible).
Warning: ALDEN SAS Services declines all responsability if these instructions are not respected.
Carefull: During the drying time, the vehicle must stay parked once you have glued the unit.
Attention:
• Only the supplied gluing kit answers the ALDEN SAS Services security requirements.
• Inform the customer of the dangers in case of strong winds. Only start the vehicle once the unit is
folded down.
• The warranty will become void if these rules are not respected.
How to glue the panel:
1. Sand the surface you are going to glue with sandpaper (medium grain).
2. Clean each surface with a thinner.
3. Spread Sika-Aktivator on the sanded surface. Leave to dry for 15 to 20 minutes.
4. Spread plenty of glue underneath the solar panel with Sikaflex®-522 then press slightly on the panel.
Layer of glue: ± 3 mm.
5. To accelerate the polymerization, pulverize a little water on the visible parts of the glue. Leave to dry for
24 hours.
