USING OXYGEN
The following guidelines must absolutely be adhered to
when in the presence of oxygen:
- Do not leave the stationary canister connected to the
portable canister,
- Close the flow rate selector knob whenever the unit is not
in use,
- Place the system in a ventilated area,
- Canisters must absolutely be kept in a vertical position.
Oxygen is not a flammable gas, but it accelerates the
combustion of materials. To avoid any risk of fire, the
FREELOX should be placed more than 1.5ˇm from any
smoker(s), flames, electrical equipment, combustible prod-
ucts such as: oils, greases, solvents, aerosol vaporizers,
etc.
SAFETY WITH COLD SUBSTANCES
Liquid oxygen is extremely cold (-183¯C).
The parts of the tanks that have been in contact with liquid
oxygen (in particular during filling of tanks) can result in a
burn in case of contact with the skin.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid burns, never touch cold or frosted parts, avoid any
spilling and pouring of liquid by absolutely keeping tanks in
the vertical position.
Use the FREELOX system only for oxygen therapy.
Oxygen therapy should only be done according to a medical
prescription, adhering to the prescribed flow rates.
In case of long period of non use or storage, remove the
batteries.
Only persons having completely read and understood
this manual are authorized to manipulate and use the
FREELOX system.
Check the maximal distance and the buzzer volume in
function of environmental noise in order to keep alarm
audible.
This unit is in accordance with the directive EEC 93/42
(medical devices), but can be affected by the nearby of the
following equipment :
cellular phones, Citizen Band, micro-wave ovens, and
more generally by electromagnetic interferences exceed-
ing the levels specified in CEI 60 601-1-2.
