4. CONNECTIONS

The DACORD SB210 unit only allows operation with low impedance of 4. To connect this
unit, it wears an easy accessible Speakon® connector.
The connection cables which connect the amplifiers output and the speaker should be of
good quality, have sufficient conductor area and be as short as possible. The latter fact is specially
important when the distance is long and the load impedance low. Always respect polarity.
To feed the DACORD SB210, a 400W to 800W RMS power amplifier is recommended.
The DACORD SB210 includes a 12dB/Oct. slope passive filter with a 250Hz crossover
frequency. If an additional external filtering is desired, the range of ECLER products offers several
options of external filters.

5. PLACEMENT AND INSTALLATION

Please observe the following general rules:
As a subwoofer, the DACORD SB210 has been designed to be installed in discrete places.
Low frequencies are considered to be non-directional so the DACORD SB210 can be perfectly
placed in corners, under a table, behind curtains... that will not notably affect its output. Generally, it
should be known that placing it close to various surfaces will increase its efficiency. Consequently,
the sound pressure level will be higher if you place the speaker on the ground in a corner rather that
just beside a wall and even more that in the centre of a room.
There is no rule governing the number of mid/high speakers per subwoofer. It mainly
depends on the subwoofer location and on the room acoustics. Thus in a highly reflective room, a
subwoofer may even damage intelligibility while several subwoofers could be necessary in a room
with highly absorptive surfaces.
Always place the speakers on solid and firm surfaces.
Although the speakers can operate outdoor, they should not be subjected to climatic stress
like sunshine or rain.
Adapt the sound pressure levels to the diffusion needs.
