These mounting instructions and
directions of use were determined
for pre-cleaners: types KF12/20/
40/60 with motor for 3 x 380 volts,
50 Hz.
KF12
KF20/40/60
Sphere of Applica-
tion
The KF-pre-cleaners are used to
separate light impurities from grain,
maize, peas and beans.
Further the pre-cleaners are used
to purify various industrial materials.
Security
Don't put your hand into the fan,
while the motor is running.
In case of repair- and maintenance
jobs the fan should be stopped and
care should be taken that it cannot
be restarted by mistake.
Be aware of the rotary diverter-
blade in the bottom of KF 20/40/60.
Take care that the pre-cleaner is
thus mounted that it is secured
against overturning and crash.
Installation
The pre-cleaner can be advanta-
geously installed to allow crop pas-
sage through the cleaner immedi-
ately after intake, after drying and
before discharge.
The pre-cleaner should be vertically
mounted. The pre-cleaner can be
mounted either to a frame (addition-
al equipment) or it can be suspend-
ed from the fittings sideways to the
pre-cleaner.
The fan should be mounted at the
pre-cleaner by means of an OK-
clamp, to be fixed by means of a
bolt. If, however the fan is provided
with a protecting net on the inlet
side, this should be dismantled, be-
fore the fan is mounted at the pre-
cleaner. The fan outlet can be
turned into the direction wanted.
The pre-cleaner should always be
mounted with the adjusting damper
making an adjustment of the quanti-
ty of air through the pre-cleaner
possible.
The damper unit for adjusting the air
passage in the pre-cleaner is a sep-
arate unit, which can be mounted at
the pipeline connected to the fan
outlet, where it would be most
accessible to adjust it. Often the
damper is adjusted as to how many
„whole grains" are coming out
together with the impurity. For that
reason the damper can advanta-
geously be mounted in the pipeline
just before the cyclone.
At the pre-cleaner types KF 20/40/
60 a bottom hopper should always
be mounted at the pre-cleaner. The
cleaning efficiency of the pre-clean-
er will depend on the fact that the
correct air flow conditions are avail-
able between the lower part of the
pre-cleaner and the bottom hopper.
The bottom hopper can be adjusted
in 3 positions in proportion to the
pre-cleaner. From the factory the
hopper has been set to the upper
position, being the most favoured
one for ordinary grain crops.
Only one pipe dimension should be
mounted - mentioned under techni-
cal data on the fan outlet.
Under technical data the max. pipe
lengths are mentioned, which are to
be mounted on the fan outlet with-
out changing the cleaning efficiency.
If, however a longer pipeline is con-
nected, it may influence on the
cleaning efficiency especially for
heavy grain crops, which require
much air through the pre-cleaner.
For very long pipelines an additional
fan should be mounted in the pipe-
line.
It should be recommended to end
the pipeline with a dust cyclone.
Because of the high capacity of air,
which is used for the KF 60 pre-
cleaner, two dust cyclones should
be used for this pre-cleaner.
Under special applying circum-
stances it may occur by the KF 20/
40/60 that the air flow through the
cyclone is so there is vaccum at the
bottom of the cyclone outlet.
If complications may occur because
of this it would be necessary to
mount the delivered regulator in the
air blow-off at the top of the cyclone.
The regulator consists of two plates,
which can be turned in proportion to
